Holiday Programs
Our Girls in Robotics days are run during school holidays each year. In these all-day events, girls in years 6-12 will work through a fun programme of building and programming robots to accomplish tasks in the theme of the day. Lunch and morning tea is provided. We aim to help girls develop technical skills, but most of all to enjoy spending a day playing with robots in a group of like-minded girls!
Girls work in pairs to build and personalise their robot, then to program it to accomplish a series of tasks. Past workshops have included relay-style secret agent missions, navigating forests and labyrinths, finding treasure at X-marks-the-spot, and more!
No previous experience in Lego robotics or programming is required. Advanced tasks are available for girls who do have experience and wish to challenge themselves further.
Upcoming Programs
We have big plans for this year, including splitting some workshops into junior and senior age groups, to allow more girls to participate and to be able to tailor workshops more closely to the girls.
