For university students
It's free and easy to become a member and start contributing. Membership is open to students from any faculty (not just engineering) and both girls and guys are welcome. Check out the positions below.
- Teaching Volunteer - You will be given the appropriate training in LEGO robotics so you can go on school visits and help with our holiday workshops on campus.
- Advertising and Media - Fancy yourself a photographer? The next vogue publisher? then maybe a role in Advertising and Media? We can always use a hand with publicity, contacting schools, finding funding, and other behind-the-scenes tasks.
- Executive Committee - Help manage the chapter, and organise workshops and events. Take conference trips across Australia, and help decide the future direction of Robogals UQ!
Joining Robogals UQ is a rewarding and fun group to be involved in. We aim to teach school children robotics, however the return for volunteers doesn't end there.
There will be chances for professional networking as we invite members from the engineering, science and IT industry to talk with our students. The advice and time of such people will also be available to all our Robogals members.
To keep us on our toes and to ensure our students have the best help they can get, Robogals will seek to get their hands on some of the newest coolest robotic tech there is around. Meaning we as volunteers get to view it, play with it or even help design it, before we display it as an inspirational tool to students.
Finally, the food filled meetings and get togethers we will have. So that robogals UQ is a cohesive team of people who can work together, it's important we know each every other well. Throughout the academic year, there will be get togethers for our member to meet on both a social and productive level.
Joining Robogals is a great way to have a positive impact on the next generation of young engineers, have fun playing with LEGO and meet new friends. Get involved today!
Please contact us if you're interested. We'd love to have you!
